Pick-up & Drop-off Reminders
Dear Hart Community, Student safety is our highest priority. We are writing to remind all families that under no circumstances should a student be dropped off in a parking space or at any of the crosswalks. Doing so creates an extremely dangerous situation for students, staff, and drivers. If a high school student drops off in the morning, please review these procedures with them.
The only approved locations for student drop-off are the designated sidewalks in the North Loop and the South Loop. Once your vehicle has come to a complete stop along the sidewalk, students may safely exit the car and walk to the open entrance door. Students do not need to be dropped off or picked up directly at the door.
We ask for your full cooperation in following these procedures every day. Adhering to the designated drop-off locations ensures a safe and efficient arrival process for everyone.
Please review the attached procedures for detailed guidance. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students safe. Sincerely, Michael Bennion, Principal
The Positivity Project
Dear Parents/Caregivers of Hart Students, We will have vision screening for all 7th grade students during the school day on March 17 through March 20, 2026. If you have a child in 6th or 8th grade who would benefit from vision screening, please contact the Hart Counseling Secretary, Anne Maloney at 248-726-4521, or by email at [email protected] All vision screening will take place during the regular school day.
RCS Attendance & Tardy Guidelines
Please review the updated RCS Attendance and Tardy Guidelines. Students who will be away from school for a planned extended absence (five or more days), and would like assignments in advance, must complete an "Extended Absence" form, and submit it to the Counseling Office before the absence begins. *Note: Reasons for planned extended absences include travel, medical procedures, or other extenuating circumstances which will cause the student to miss school for a period of five days or more. It is our goal to provide students with assignments ahead of time in order to prevent learning loss, and a drop in student grades. Extended Absence forms can be obtained in the Hart Counseling Office. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dear 6th Grade Families, Hart 6th graders will travel to "Isle Royale at The Detroit Zoo" on Thursday, April 23rd. They will investigate the ecosystem of Isle Royale, focusing on the predator-prey relationship between the moose and wolf population.
The cost of the trip is $15.00 per student.
There is no fee for parent chaperones. Chaperones must have a current ICHAT Volunteer Authorization on file with RCS prior to the trip (see link below).
Students and chaperones will travel to/from The Detroit Zoo on RCS school buses, leaving Hart at 9:00am.
Students should arrive for school at the regular start time (7:25am).
Chaperones are asked to arrive at Hart by 8:35am. Please check in with the Main Office staff, who will direct you to the meeting location.
