OCHD Resources and Health Information
Attention Hart Families, As we enter into the cooler months where people gather in closed quarters, the incidence of spreadable conditions tends to increase. Families may be interested in resources and community health information provided by the Oakland County Health Division and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
OCHD public health officials offer a variety of resources to increase awareness and prevention measures at home. Common conditions may include: influenza; lice; hand, foot and mouth disease; strep throat; and others.
Additional information is available from the OCHD and MDHHS.
If your child exhibits concerning symptoms, please seek medical attention as appropriate.
RCS Attendance & Tardy Guidelines
Please review the updated RCS Attendance and Tardy Guidelines. Students who will be away from school for a planned extended absence (five or more days), and would like assignments in advance, must complete an "Extended Absence" form, and submit it to the Counseling Office before the absence begins. *Note: Reasons for planned extended absences include travel, medical procedures, or other extenuating circumstances which will cause the student to miss school for a period of five days or more. It is our goal to provide students with assignments ahead of time in order to prevent learning loss, and a drop in student grades. Extended Absence forms can be obtained in the Hart Counseling Office. Thank you for your cooperation.

'Helping Harts" Holiday Assistance Program
Dear Hart Families, With the holiday season just around the corner, we would like to reach out to our Hart families who need assistance. If your family is in need of holiday help, please download the attached Helping Harts Holiday Wish List, fill it out, and return it to Hart Principal, Michael Bennion in the Main Office. Please limit your wish list to three reasonably priced items per immediate family member 18 years old and under so we have the opportunity to help as many families as possible. Your name & personal information will be kept confidential. A specific date and time will be arranged for you to pick up your items before the holiday break, which begins at the end of the regular school day December 19th. *Note: We will contact you ahead of time if the needs of our community exceed our ability to accommodate all requests. Please return your completed wish list to Mr. Bennion by Tuesday, November 18th. If you have any questions, or would like to return your wish list as an email attachment, please email [email protected]. We are looking forward to another year of helping our Hart families, and hope this program brings joy to both our friends who donate, and our families who receive. Very sincerely, Michael Bennion, Principal Hart Middle School

Photos for Yearbook
Dear Hart Families,
This year our yearbook team wants to capture our students' stories beyond the final bell of their daily school life. What is your story? We are inviting families to submit photos of Hart students outside of school, playing sports, hanging out with friends, volunteering, traveling, creating art, or just being themselves. These snapshots help make our yearbook personal and memorable. Please send photos to [email protected] by November 17, 2025 so your child can be featured in this lasting keepsake. Thank you,
We are looking for a few more students who are interested in making Hart even more beautiful. Join the Hart Beautification Club today!!

PTSA Bulletin
Don't forget to visit EagleLink to choose a book for Language Arts, join the PTSA, and more! If you haven't ordered your required reading for ELA/ALA yet, head to EagleLink to complete the Back to School packet. If you have already bought the book or will be purchasing or borrowing the book from somewhere else, please complete the form and choose the option for "Purchasing/Obtaining Book Elsewhere". This will prevent us from continuing to contact you regarding making your purchase and will help our Language Arts teachers keep track of who still needs to get the book! If you don't know what EagleLink, ELA/ALA, or AIA is email US or come to a PTSA meeting. We are here to help! Only ONE book is necessary for class. You can order more if you wish, but no need to order them all.
